Yummy, Yummy, Yummy, in my Tummy, Tummy, Tummy

Jack has had a weekend of a few more "firsts"! He sat in the grass for the first time (dead winter grass...pretty unimpressive)! Licked the brownie spoon! And ate some baked potato!

Where did the time go?

Phew - February has come and gone with the blink of an eye! And, Jack is 6 months old! He had his 6 month check up at the beginning of the month and is now weighing in at 19lbs 13 oz and 29" long! After another round of sleep training we have a baby who is sleeping through the night again! We endured a few days of screaming bloody murder in order for Jack to learn to "self soothe"! He's been going to bed between 7:30 & 8 and sleeping until anywhere between 6-8. I find myself waking him up to go to Eva's during the week and bright-eyed and bushy-tailed on the days he doesn't have to go. We've lost a bit of snuggle time since he doesn't need to be rocked to sleep anymore, but, I find myself sneaking a few minutes of rocking in when I put him down for naps! All 3 of us are much happier! Its my 6 month birthday! I think its time for a TV in my room!

Should I really be sleeping all night long? Mom, this is what you need to do...

Jack cut his bottom 2 teeth this month! Since he's mastered sitting he likes showing off his skill. But he likes to stand even more! So, in addition to Mark working on crawling, I'm teaching him how to pull himself up. He is becoming less interested in his toys and more interested in controllers, phones, computers, and anything to pound on! Mark informed me today that Jack knocks on Eva's door when he drops him off! What a character!

Biting my spoon!

In my new duckie tub! Quack Quack Quack!

I got my first black eye at Eva's. Some boy threw a train...it hurt!

Slowing Down

After the going over the river and through the woods, January was much slower. Mark had basketball games Friday and Saturday nights all month, Jack was on two rounds of antibiotics with an ear infection, he mastered sitting up, and Jack, Lolly, and I went to Denver to see Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle JB for a weekend.

CrAZzy

I think I'm slowly starting to lose my mind. Every night, without fail, I "hear" Jack crying. Sometimes it starts as early as my head hits the pillow...just waiting for him to wake up, because inevitably its going to happen. Sometimes its not until 4 in the morning, after being up for an hour. Last night I sat up, got out of bed and went to the door (multiple times), and even found the monitor to turn on because I thought he was crying. Eventually I decided to walk down the hall and peek into his room. Hearing his heavy breathing satisfied the babies in my head to turn down the volume so I could fall back to sleep!

You know you're a mom when...

As if getting puked on, peed on, & pooped on isn't mommyhood initiation enough...adding Sesame Street to the DVR recording schedule is!

I just hope Jack likes the show as much as I did...I just hope I'm not overwhelmed learning all the new characters! I heard a rumor that Cookie Monster eats fruits and veggies now...

Sledding

We had quite a few inches of snow! School was cancelled before the snow even started so Mark stayed home with Jack. And thankfully I was able to leave work early and got home with time to try out the sled before it got dark! Jack was more entertained by the neighbors dog than by the white stuff. Maybe next year our hill will be the cause of giggles! (Mark & I both had a fun ride down!!!)

Happy New Year!

The Bruns' have survived another holiday season...this one with a baby in tow! December was a typically busy month for us! As I glance at the calendar to review our happenings, Jack had his first overnight visit at Lolly & Poppy's! Mark and I went to watch Coldwater play in the State Finals so we made a pit-stop in Columbus to drop off Jack! And then we decided to just leave him there! Well, he was sleeping on Poppy when we arrived home and I decided it might be nice to be able to sleep in on Saturday morning after spending most of the day in the car! So, Lolly & Poppy agreed to keep Jack! We really had to twist their arm! Poppy was initiated into Grandfatherhood by being thrown up on by a very snotty, fussy, and finger-chewing Roo.

Jack's first snow!

Cute as can be in his doggie hat & mittens!

We were back at the Drs office a couple weeks after his 4 month check up because Jack's cold didn't seem to be getting any better. Since we can't give him any medicine yet, I just wanted to double check we were doing all the right things while it ran its course. But, I'm glad I went because the little guy had an ear infection and pinkeye. So, we had a few days at home together until the pinkeye wasn't contagious anymore!
Monkeyin' around!

And, we celebrated our first Christmas! Santa visited our house when we were at Christmas Eve mass (just like he did when Daddy was little)!
I love Ryan the Lion!
Jack in the box!

Christmas Day we drove to Columbus for Christmas with Lolly & Poppy! Jack was spoiled by both of them...with gifts, attention, and lots of love!
Merry Christmas!

We celebrated New Years with Nana and Papa, Uncle Hube and Aunt Katie, and Madison and Avery (and Pooh too)! We also celebrated a late Christmas, where we were all again spoiled!
Pooh kisses! (or maybe mom didn't get all the squash off my face!)

Playing with Madison & Avery!

Checking out the inside of my toy box!

Check out my new ride!

Jack is doing really well eating food! I don't think he cares much for oatmeal so I've stopped forcing it. But he appears to really like squash! I'm still a bit nervous to try green beans and peas, but we have to! And, he'll have to learn to like green beans because they're served nearly once a week! We have also moved him out of his infant carseat and into the convertible seat as I was struggling to carry him! He's started to roll over a lot! Jabber a lot! Squeal, squeak, and giggle a lot! And most importantly...he's sleeping through the night!!!!!!

And here are some professional pictures we (finally) got taken!
