Cause for Celebration!

Wowy-Zowy has this month been BUSY! I for one, cannot believe its July already! You know what this means right? Not only is summer 1/2 over, football officially starts, Mark and I celebrate another blessed year of marriage, but my itty-bitty baby (never really that itty-bitty) is turning ONE! The itty-bitty baby is too big for his 'saucer!

Well, lets start at the beginning of July shall we? Mark, Jack, and I traveled the long and boring route to visit our friends Matt, Michele, Izzie, and Sammie in Chicago over the 4th holiday! We haven't seen the Donahue's since November and Miss Sam was welcomed to their family in May! "Uncle" Mark loved cuddling with Sam - you know, that position he likes best...on the couch with a baby on his chest! Izzie was my gal pal for the weekend and Jack was just thrilled to have some new toys to play with! The drive was long and didn't go as expected (Jack only slept 2 of the 5 hours there), but the kids definitely wore eachother out! We went to a car show in a nearby town! Jack was more interested in the train that passed us by a few times, not to mention the ice cream we shared! And Mark was all about the Shelby Cobra on display. (Apparently he thinks it'll be his next car. I'd rather him get a Ford F150 if I'm going to lose another car battle!) Izzie playing in her Uncle's car

Wheels!

Sharing the Blizzard! YUM!

And we celebrated the holiday with some neighborhood friends! What a great time! Only a couple months until we see them again!

Jack himself has been a busy bee...car-setting across Ohio! He spent a weekend in Coldwater with Nana & Papa and he spent a couple of days in Columbus with Lolly & Poppy! While he was busy playing with Nana, Papa, and Uncle Hube in Coldwater, Mark and I celebrated our 5th Wedding Anniversary! Can you believe its been 5 years? We certainly can't! Mark thought we were celebrating #6! It definitely feels that long! While Jack was away, Mark played in a Wiffleball Tournament and I painted a bedroom. That's right! Gotta work while the baby is gone! I've become obsessed with this blog: http://www.theletteredcottage.net/ and Donna said she'd give us Mark's old mattress if we wanted it for our guest bedroom. We have a double bed in an extra room, but lets face it, double beds don't fit 2 people very well, and I'm all for free things! So, we (I) converted our office (aka room filled with junk) into a guest bedroom! Mark was less than enthusiastic about this transformation but when we faced the facts, the room was filled with things that we weren't using and we're hoping to add another member to our family in the (near) future so we'll have to transition Jack into a big boy room and I'd like to think my regular "crazies" are less crazy than my pregnancy "crazies"! (Mark doesn't seem to think there's a difference in the crazies but atleast I could paint the room instead of having to doing some outside recruiting!) Wow! Enough rambling about that! The room is complete, minus some accessorizing but since its a guest room and budgets are tight, that will have to wait! Also, I'd like to make known that I finally learned to use a drill. Slightly against my will, but 2 1/2 years after being a home owner, I hung my first curtain rod. (The curtains I'd purchased I decided I don't like.)

Mark and I finally made our commitment to God and joined a church a few months ago. We did a little shopping around and decided to join Immaculate Heart of Mary (Roman Catholic). Our commitment to join a church was based on our desire to baptize Jack. Which, is just what we did this month. The weekend was truly blessed!

Hube, Katie, Madison, and Avery came down on Friday and we had a squealing good-time! We all packed into our vehicle and went to the zoo! It was a sweating hot time, but the kids enjoyed looking at the animals and I was pretty impressed as well! The kids had a great time playing together! Madison is definitely the Boss of the Bruns Babies!

Saturday was the big day! Jack entered into the Body of Christ!

Baptized!

Jack has had some other big "firsts" this month! As I enthusiastically blogged, he stood up on his own and took his first steps! We're still working on the walking, and he's becoming more confident in letting go of props and walking between people! We dined at McDonald's for the first time (on our way home from Chicago)! He is Mark's kid...sword fighting with french fries and digging a double cheeseburger instead of nuggets!

Messy dinner of Chicken Parmesan!

Its hotter than blazes...

And not just outside! Jack is on fire =) On Monday he stood up all by himself at Uncle Mike's pool, this morning he held his bottle for the first time (nothing like it taking until he's 11 1/2 months old) and, get ready folks...he took his first steps!

Hopefully I'm able to get some of these milestones on video soon! (By the time the camera clicked our walker was on his way down.) I'm hoping it wasn't just a fluke. Or, maybe I am...
