Yep! We've dashed, thrown snowballs, slipped on ice, and drank hot chocolate! Already...even before Christmas! (I have a feeling its going to be a looooong Winter!)
Football season came to a disappointing end with a loss in the 'shoe. Of course film has been watched and plays re-watched in slow motion to prove the guy was indeed out of bounds. No one is bitter ;-)!
Roman celebrated his 5th Birthday with the entire selection of Power Rangers toys!
Joey and Drew started crawling, which developed into pulling themselves up. Joey right at the 7 month mark and Drew a couple weeks later. Joey had his first tooth pop through (thank God) on December 11th and a second has appeared overnight! Drew is chewing and fussing so I'm holding high hopes one appears soon for him. Joey was banished to the pack 'n play in the laundry room for sleeping training (cry it out) over Thanksgiving weekend. Lets just say, the kid doesn't get it. He's still sleeping in there (so he doesn't wake up Drew) and has slept through the night on occasion. However, with my desire to sleep more, I've given into the mid-night bottle. It's so much faster! (*que sigh and eye roll) C'est La Vie!
They've shared their disgust for playing in their excersaucers and would much prefer to be on the outside. They love bath time and are now out of the infant tub and splashing together. They are both enjoying baby food. Joey's favorite is oatmeal and Drew eats it all! There's lots of tray pounding during meal times! Drew is doing a lot of babbling and Joey is bouncing at the music table.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnddddddddddddddd....this has been sitting here for umm...2.5 months?!?!
Again...we're dashing thru the snow! The boys enjoyed a snow day yesterday...with perfect packing snow! We don't have a snow man in the yard, but there is a small fort and lots of feet prints in the yard and snow gear strewn upon the garage!
Jack has been playing basketball this winter and loving it. He's improved since last year and is making lots of shots! As you may imagine, he's the tallest kid on his team!
We are working with Roman to get him ready for Kindergarten. He's sitting down and doing "homework" nightly with Jack and numbers and letters are finally resonating with him. The other night he even made the decision that he didn't want to wear a diaper to bed anymore. So far so good =)!
The babies are almost 10 months! We were a little late on their 9 month appointment and went this week. Joey is nearly 19 lbs and 28" tall. Drew is 20 lbs and 27.5" tall. Joey is cutting teeth almost weekly and Drew has his 4th coming in. They've become quick crawlers and are walking along furniture. They still aren't sleeping thru the night...its a work in progress since they wake each other up. Buuuuuuuuuut, there are no more bottles. However, we've created another monster in them coming to bed with us to go back to sleep. And regardless of how the night has gone, they wake up at 6 with full diapers and start bouncing in their crib when I walk in the room to get them.
They have learned to hold their bottles (although, if I have anything to do with it, I prefer to hold them), they've learned to shove puffs and Cheerios in their mouths, are clapping, and babbling - a lot! Dada is their favorite! They both love their big brothers and will crawl to their bedroom if they know they're in there. Plus, those bigs get the best belly laughs from the littles. We end our day with baths - no matter how fussy they are, when the water starts filling the tub, their clothes can't come off fast enough!
Dinner time has become a production...4 chairs and 2 high chairs crowd our kitchen island while Rudy generally hunkers down between Roman and Joey, hoping for some scraps!
Our house is loud and busy. There are toys everywhere. And while I try to roll with it, sometimes it still gets the best of me and I can't help but bust out the vacuum (daily). I usually have one helper on my hip and another cleaning up toys while we move from room to room.
We've had a round with Influenza A (Drew), ear infections (Joey & Drew), a quick stomach bug (Jack), and colds (all). Thankfully knocking on wood, that's the worst of our winter illnesses.
I've realized I'm failing miserably at pictures of the boys these days...hopefully no one holds a grudge that one brothers photo album is much more complete than the other brother 😐! Did you catch the part when I said our house is busy?
